Hi Kendall,
I found your site while I was looking up something on Zachary Levi. There was a link that I used & I'm so happy I did cos I fell in love with your voice & music! It's just beautiful! Gotta go to the CD shop & find your albums now!!
All the best (and thank you)

December 16, 2009

Due to the time of year have been listening to December. A really good festive album with the standouts being I'll Be Home For Christmas and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. They wouldnt look out of place besides all the 'classics' that come out for airing at this time of the year.

Also good to be able to a otherwise rarely played cd. Reason being i cant bring myself to play Jingle Bells or Deck The Halls or any other christmas songs in June.

God bless,

April Davis

I took a very long time trying to find the PERFECT song to take me down the aisle when I got married.
I your song "daddy" and used it on July 24th, 2009. It was perfect and I reached the alter just as the line "to stand beside him on this day, after you give me away" was sang. My husband cried. Your song made it the perfect moment. I can't thank you enough for that song. It remains a greatly loved tune by my husband and I. I look forward to getting other albums by you!

December 13, 2009

Hey Kendall. I was at my mom's going through her cd's and came across your first cd. I asked my mom about it and she said "That's yours" I immediately brought it home to listen to and instantly remembered having it as a teen and really being ministered by it. I then searched you on facebook and found the link to your website. I am so glad to see you are still singing and recording and will now be purchasing your new music. Love you girl!

I picked up your first album completely by chance when I was about 17 years old. In the recent past, I found out that you almost played a show with one of my musician-friends, & I decided to look you up. Now, I can't get enough of you.

You speak my heart into song. Everything you write is so real for me. I play your music for introspective look at who I am. Please continue to do God's work as you are. You are one artist I know who's music truly does make a difference.

-Cheers & Blessings

LOVED your new album. As I was listening to it on this classic New York November day, I was moved by your words and music. Bravissima.

I just received your CD "Paper Skin" today that I ordered from CD Baby. I am a lover of many varieties of music and when I heard a few of your songs, I knew I would love this CD. A good friend is getting married and going to play "Daddy" at the reception. It's lovely. I can relate with many of your lyrics and love the calming/relaxing tone of this one. You have a beautiful voice and I will surely be listening to this over and over again. Thank-you!

I am going RIGHT NOW to order your new album. I LOVE your work, and frequently ask KLOVE why, with the dearth of airtime given to women singers, you are not played regularly? Your music is wonderful, Kendall.

I love your song "Thats why there is grace". Do you know when there will be a accompaniement cd/tape for this song anytime soon and where I can buy it.

For anyone interested there are a few KP songs in iTunes that are not on her albums: God Bless the Heartaches (two versions), Whisper My Name and Jesus We Look To Thee. You'd have to download itunes onto your computer tho to get them.

Dear Kendall, I just wanted to let you know how much your song,"That's why there's Grace" means to me. This has been a very difficult year for me, and when I first heard your song on the radio, I just broke down in tears. Thanks for sharing your talent. October 16, 2009

I've decided to check out CDBaby if maybe the CD is already available (hard copie, not digital) and YAY!!! it is! :)
I just can’t wait to hold it in my hands and to listen to it, especially to “It’s Over”, this will be very emotional to me for sure. Just to read the lyrics bring already tears to my eyes.
I miss my Tiger very much, but my new kittens Pacino and Wooly bring so much joy into my life and remind me every day of my little Tigi - he’ll always stay in my heart and will be always a part of my life.

Thank you for making music with real meaning!

October 13, 2009

Just downloaded the new album and love love love it! Your music is so beautiful. Thank you!

October 13, 2009

Got the new album. Have avoided listening to the samples so a new complte kendall payne album. Im genuinely excited, only otherwise happens with music when the beatles release stuff. YAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

October 12, 2009

I was blown away by your performance at DC last night!! It's obvious the gift God has given you in your music, and that He's the one that gives you the words for your songs.
You are a great example, in your character, your stories.... =) It was awesome to meet you.
Oh, and we ran out of time during the "Girl Talk", but here's the verse I wanted to share.
1 Peter 3:3-4
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

October 11, 2009

WOW!! I just finished listening to Kendall Payne's new album "Wounds to Scars" and it is absolutely her best work yet!! It so deeply touched my heart and helped me realize again that God does heal our wounds and make us stronger as t...he wounds turn into scars!! This album is completely REAL and compassionate with a special depth of understanding and the last song, "He Might Ask The Same of You", leaves us with an awesome challenge. As we cry out to God to do something about all the pain and suffering in the world, are we listening for His reply? What is He asking us to do? Thank you Kendall! God has truly given you a precious gift of understanding the pain of this life and giving hope for what God can do with it! God bless you as you have blessed me!!!!

i heard your song, i will show you love, on grey's anatomy and had to find it. i cried for so many reasons, most of which i probably don't need to explain to you. it seems you reach into those deep, dark places where we hide our painful struggles.... and with your words and most beautiful voice... you call them out and bring them to reality. forcing those of us who allow it.... to heal. that's how powerful your gift is. thank you for sharing it.....

My son (who's 15 & an acoustic guitarist) and I were at Calvary a couple of weeks back and were very moved by your song "That's why there's grace." Wow, it's a good thing that you decided to learn to play the piano, because your musical talent seems to know no bounds! When your husband told me that you had recorded that song in Calvary's sanctuary, I knew that my husband would appreciate it (he was a lead member of the building committee for Calvary when our children were very young).I know that your CD will greatly minister to a friend who is walking through a rough patch and your music has ministered greatly to me, as well. Do I recognize your name from Viewpoint School? Our daughter, Lauren, graduated in 2009 and our son is a sophomore there. Small world, isn't it? Keep making music and using the gifts that God has obviously lavished on you...and we'll hope to see you at Calvary again very soon.

I wanted you to know how much your music has meant to my granddaughter. She was raped in April. Her uncle heard you sing in Arizona and sent her 2 of your CD's. They have given her inspiration to keep going. The trial is next week. When Wounds to Scars is released I want to get it for here. Thank you for sharing your music.

Such a beautiful website, I love the pictures of you, and I am so looking forward to the new cd! I especially like "Thats why there's grace", and "He might ask the same of you". I go through seasons of depression, too, so I know sort-of what you might feel like. Thanks for pressing-on and letting the Lord's beauty flow out of you. May you be hopefilled for the next adventure He has for you.

Hi Kendall,
Since your first visit to Holland years ago I've been playing your CD's. Looking forward for this new one. Besides your great voice and your ability to put so much emotion in your songs, I appreciate the fact that you not only sing about the sunny sides of being Christian, but that you also sing about your struggles in life, the wounds and scars (hey, that sounds like the title of your new album :-)).
Thanks for being so honest in your songs. God bless you!

Fred Frederick

August 28, 2009

I love the new album!
It reminds me somewhat of the Jordan's Sister album, which I thought was your best so far.
I can't wait to get the Wounds to Scars album so I can hear it all. I am also still patiently waiting for you to have a show in the midwest, close enough for me to experience your honesty in expressions first hand. Thanks for your caring and sharing.

August 28, 2009

Hey Kendall, You are an amazing singer/songwriter. The songs you write just blow me away and I love your voice.Got JORDAN'S SISTER CD the day it was released. The CD'S GROWN,PAPER SKIN are outstanding.

Thanks for your honesty and willingness to be vulnerable. I am really excited for your new album. I think I've persuaded a few people in Romania to listen. You have even more international fame! :)

Take care, please.

August 28, 2009

dear, dear Kendall,

i'm sorry to hear you're having a depression. i can come up with some powerful scriptural passages (eg. Prov. 18:21), but i think you already know the truth (it's the devil who comes 'not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy' Joh. 10:10 and it's you who has to resist the devil using scripture cf. Jak. 4:7;Luke 4:1-13)... so what more can i do than pray for you? i will pray for you!

wishing you all the best,

Walter, Rotterdam, The Netherlands

August 27, 2009

I was looking at your new pictures and decided I like the ones you are smiling in the best. Your music is serious and happy. I love it all. You are my favorite musician. But, you should totally smile more in your pictures.

August 27, 2009

P.S. I don't even have Jordan's sister on CD yet...only my good old cassette tape. :)

August 27, 2009

I just want to tell you not only how much I love your music, but how much it's made an impact on my life. I bought your first album when I was in 8th or 9th grade...and continue to listen. "Grown" helped me through a lot of mess when I came out of college, and this past December when I got married I danced with my dad to "Daddy" from "Paper Skin". (He and I both cried the whole way through.) I know that God is working in your life to help others through their own struggles and desires. Thank you!

kendall...amen to brian's comments on 8/11/09...I too, as a 42 yr. old father of three, find your music incredibly spiritual and moving....true joy in your expressions of how faith and real life collide...I truly believe music can draw us closer to, as well as keep our eyes on, Him. Thanks for the help!

I've been listening to the clips of the new CD for the last...oh, almost three hours now. haha! I LOVE "David"!! It's ecactly the song that I've been waiting for the last...oh, month or so. I love the lyrics and the sound. haha, I don't even want to think of how many times I've replayed that short clip in the last few hours. I'm so excited!

I always tell people I know about your music--not only do you have a wonderful, sophisticated sound and a voice that actually has character (unlike a lot of the 'plastic' sounding women's voices so often heard, especially in christian music), but your lyrics are wonderful, thoughtful, complex, and challenging. They're a poetry that challeges the listener to engage with it and not just listen to a flat, characterless "pretty" song. These aren't lyrics you hear everyday, these are lyrics that change you and cause you to encouter them.

We were listening to your music on a road trip down to Breuno Sand dunes for camping, and my best friend was sitting in the front seat with me while the people in the back seat talked. We love intellectual conversations and anything that makes us really think, and your lyrics led us into another of our complex theological conversations. usually the only things that do that are great sermons we hear, the complexity of the human mind, or the bible itself. My favorite songs, if it's even possible to pick some, are "Twenty-three", "On My Bones", "Ups & Downs", and "It's Not the Time" about abortion. And Supermodels--that one makes me laugh. :D

Thank you for all you do! I'm sitting on the edge of my metaphorical seat in excitement for this CD!

~Jennie Marie

August 24, 2009

I want to encourage you... seriously! I traveled 3 hours of I-5 last year just to watch the best band in the world play at the Berkeley campus (Travis). I was so dumbfounded that they barely pulled in 1500 fans?? What the heck??! They've played for tens of thousands and are huge in the U.K., but haven't broke America yet. They're cool like you, I met them. They're very approachable as you are. You're my favorite solo artist, they are my favorite band. Why is it that the two coolest artists are so down to earth & create the kind of music that reaches us individually deep down? When you have it, you have it all I guess? Please rent Travis: the singles DVD when you get a chance. My favorite video is "Driftwood".

Hallo Kendall, I looking for musicnotes of your song Honest. Can you help me, please.
greetings from Holland,
Cor van Haaften

August 11, 2009

Hi Kendall,
I just read your latest news post "NOT the next food network star" and your honesty almost brings me to tears, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's a just a real thing.
One thing I wish you could see, that you might see..., and that is, if you got what you believe (and I and I'm sure many others believe) you deserve, at least in the music world, I think "we" would lose you. You would be swallowed up and changed and this not for the better. That's my personal opinion, even though I truly believe you are like a Super Women and I have the greatest confidence in you, I still have many times thought about why you are not recognized for the truly incredible talent you are and I don't say this to pat your back or booster your confidence, it's just true. But I know you're meant for greater things, things that you are already participating in, the lives of so many young ladies and a few men :) are and have been forever affected by your music, your honesty and your life.
One thought is, even if YOU didn't change, what you appeared to be would change, it just happens, if you're a star, our perceptions are molded or twisted by what we consider a star should be.
I don't think we could hear what you're saying, I don't think we would listen as well as we do. You would just be a star and everything you sang would just be great. I think it could have been a disaster, but it sure isn't now.
Well...this is just the thoughts of a 47 year old father of 3 boys who owns every CD you've made and still finds himself being taught and challenged and really utterly amazed with what God is teaching through the music you have produced thus far. I can only imagine what might come as the years progress.

Your song "That's Why There's Grace" really touched me. I wanted to say thanks. I've been looking all over the internet for the name of the cd the song was on so I could buy it. Thankfully I found your sight. I think you must have blessed many with that song and I'm blessed for it. Thanks again and God Bless.

Also - just to let you know that you are known and appreciated in England. Any chance of you coming over from the USA? Would love to see you play live.

Kendall visited our church a few months back, at a time when I was very low. Her inspiring music captivated me and helped me reinvigorate my faith. I bought every album she has, and I particularly loved her prayer, Aslan, 23, and Scratch - but almost everyhting she's done touches me.

I had never heard your music before but when I heard it at DCLA I was moved. Thank you for preforming there and i hope that in three years you would go again. God Bless you and your family.
